Mrs. Hodgen’s class did a little science experiment with baking soda, water and balloons! Students used their observation skills and watched their balloon ghosts grow when the gases formed by the baking soda and water filled them.
4th graders counted large collections of Candy Corn, spiders and pumpkins. Teams had to decide on an efficient strategy, check each partners work and share their process with the rest of the class.

Second graders practice estimating and measuring items with non-standard units. Here they are using Skittles to measure different items. This practice helps students get ready to measure with standard units such as inches and centimeters.

Miss Heard’s 3rd graders have been learning about the water cycle and experimented with shaving cream clouds to see how much “rain” their clouds could hold.
Second graders were challenged to build a tower to support their pumpkin using only paper and tape. Looks like this team was surprised at their success!
